Second man arrested over social media imagine which 'mocked George Floyd'

Police in Fife have made a second arrest in an investigation into an image appearing to mock the death of George Floyd.

Mr Floyd died in Minneapolis last week after his neck was knelt on by a police officer.

Four officers are now facing charges relating to the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers in Fife can confirm that a second man, aged 29, has been arrested in connection with an image relating to the death of George Floyd in the United States which has been circulating on social media.

"Inquiries are ongoing."

A spokesperson for the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service said: "We can confirm that the procurator fiscal at Dundee received a report concerning a two males aged 29 and 26 years in connection with an incident on June 2 2020.

"This matter is under consideration by the procurator fiscal. One of the males has been liberated meantime pending further inquiries."
