Councillor vows to fight for Beacon centre amid cut claims

A Fife Councillor says he will be doing all he can to save the Beacon Leisure Centre in Burntisland.

Councillor Neil Crooks quit his role at Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, amid claims the organisation lodged fresh proposals late last year to cut the opening hours at the facility.

It comes after proposals for full closure in January 2019 were rejected by Fife Council.

Fife Sports and Leisure Trust says "no decision has been made with regards the current operating hours".
