Appeal for information launched after fire in Kirkcaldy

An appeal for information has been launched after a building fire in Kirkcaldy last night.

Emergency services were called to a property in the town's High Street at around 7.25pm .

Firefighters from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service tackled the blaze.

Nobody was injured.

Police say inquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire and are looking for witnesses.

Detective Inspector Samantha Davidson of Glenrothes CID from Police Scotland said: "We are working to establish the full circumstances of this fire and would urge anyone with information which could help to come forward.

"We would also be keen to speak to anyone with dashcam footage or private CCTV.

"Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 2947 of 16 August, 2022."
