Runs until Friday, 5 July 2024 (See all dates)

10:00 - 12:00
Pathhead Church Halls, Kirkcaldy, KY1 2AG

This relaxed and friendly course is for people who have a hearing loss who would like to improve their communications and manage their hearing loss better.

Do you:
- have to ask people to repeat what they say?
- have to turn the volume up on your TV?
- find it difficult to follow speech in groups or noisy situations?

Then Lipreading classes could help…

Lipreading classes can help adults of all ages, with any degree of hearing loss, to communicate better in everyday life. Classes can help boost your confidence and are a great way to do something positive and practical about your hearing loss.

Classes are informal, friendly and supportive; taught by a qualified lipreading tutor who will encourage you to relax and have a laugh. You’ll meet others with a hearing loss and be able to share useful tips & advice. There’ll be a different theme for each class so you’ll likely improve your general knowledge too.

There'll be practical lipreading activities including finding out about and comparing the different shapes sounds make on the lips and games and quizzes to help you develop your skills. Information will be provided on a range of topics such as the ear and how it works, communication tactics and coping strategies, and the services, specialist equipment and support available to help you manage your hearing loss.
