It comes as a former Prime Minister and a Nobel laureate will outline what they call the benefits to medical research that of a vote agains independence

Gordon Brown and Sir Paul Nurse will be speaking at Edinburgh University.

They'll be joined by academics Dr Frances Dow CBE, Lord David Steel and Professor Hugh Pennington CBE.

A chairman of the Research Councils UK has previously said there was 'no question' Scotland could remain part of Research Councils UK, while major charities have indicated a desire to retain UK-wide funding systems.
