Fife Council's leader admits they're trying to hire teachers from every corner of the globe to address a shortfall.
The local authority currently has 88 vacancies, with another 25 expected in the next school year.
Adverts and recruitment drives are underway in Ireland, Australia, New Zealand the United States.
The Scottish Government's commitment to maintain staff numbers means the council could be financially punished for failing to fill the posts.
