Work Help For Disabled Scots

Disabled Scots will be helped back into work

Disabled Scots who are 'furthest away from the job market' are being helped back into employment with the launch of a work related support scheme.

Announced by the Department for Work and Pensions and disability employment service Remploy, it offers them a specialist coach to support them into work. Those with multiple and complex barriers to work will be supported for upto 12 months.

Launching at the start of September, it hopes to help over 700 disabled people.

Beth Carruthers, Remploy Chief Executive, said: "Remploy has an experienced and specialist team with pan-disability expertise dedicated and committed to transforming the lives of disabled people.

"We are focused on giving candidates the choice and control of their journey building support around what the individual likes and wants so that they can move into life-changing employment."
