Police in Cupar are looking for witnesses after a man assaulted a 37-year-old woman who was walking in the town early this morning.
The incident happened around 4 o'clock when the woman was walking along Hill Crescent.
She was approached by a man who hit her on the body with an item he was carrying.
The attacker's between 20 and 30 years old, 5ft 5ins tall, with brown hair and was wearing a blue top and jeans.
Police say the woman sustained minor injuries but was shaken and upset.
