Witness Appeal After Thefts In North East Fife

Police in the East Neuk are urging local farmers, workers and members of the community to be extra vigilant following recent thefts.

A thief or thieves targeted separate properties in Colinsburgh and Lathockar between Friday, October 9, and Saturday, October 10.

They forced entry into farm style outbuildings resulting in the theft of numerous items including power tools and three quad bikes. 

One of the quad bikes has already been recovered as a result of the police investigation however Yamaha and Polaris quad bikes, both green in colour, remain outstanding. 

Anyone who believes they have seen these vehicles or has any relevant information about the identity of those responsible is asked to contact Police Scotland. 

Community Investigation Unit Police Sergeant, Gary Combe said: “We are currently investigating two separate crimes in North East Fife where quad bikes appear to have been targeted and stolen by the culprits. 

“We believe these crimes to be linked and would urge anyone with any information about the identity of the thieves or regarding the disposal of any of the stolen property to make contact with Police Scotland”. 

Anyone with information, about these crimes or believes they know the identity of any individuals who are engaging in this type of criminal activity are requested to contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively, the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
