West Fife residents have been urged to be vigilant after there were reports of a scam involving someone claiming to be a nurse.
NHS Fife says locals have reported that their homes have been visited by a person offering to sell them healthcare products such as mobility scooters, beds and stairlifts.
The individual reportedly wears navy combat trousers and a dark polo shirt.
They also claim to be conducting sales on behalf of a company called Saltire Scotland, although the firm says it has no knowledge of the person.
A statement said: "NHS Fife and Police Scotland are encouraging people to remain vigilant in relation to cold callers and remember that NHS Fife does not act as a vendor for private companies.
"If you receive a visit from someone and are concerned about the authenticity of their visit, please call 0800 030 8012 to verify.
"If you suspect you may be being targeted by a suspected fraud, please contact Police Scotland on 101."
