Warning To Riders

Motorbikes are being ridden without permission through woodland in Glenrothes.

Site managers at the Formonthills Community Woodland say they're not permitted and are alarming a number of visitors.

Visitors are being urged to report any suspicious activity to Police Scotland by calling 101.

Site manager Jill Aitken said: "All of our woods are open to the public and we encourage responsible access from groups including walkers, cyclists and horse-riders. We can't allow motorbikes because they can cause a lot of damage to the paths, and more importantly there is the potential for a serious accident.

"We have put up signs up at the entrances to Fortmonthills to make people aware that motorbikes are not allowed in the woods, and we’re working with the police to try and resolve the problem."
