Voice Winner Stevie McRorie To Play T In The Park

Stevie on his pre-victory tour of Kirkcaldy

Kirkcaldy fireman Stevie McRorie's week keeps getting better.

It'll be the second time he has performed at the festival - having sung on the T Break stage in 2010 with an unsigned group called MOPP.

Organisers have confirmed he'll play on Saturday, traditionally the busiest day of the festival.

This year's event, set to be hosted at Strathallan Castle, takes place between July 10th-12th.

Stevie's winner's single Lost Stars, a Maroon Five cover, is number one in the Official, BIg Top 40 and iTunes charts, and is heading for a chart-topping debut on Sunday. He'll play T in the Park on Saturday 11th July.

The dad of one's told Kingdom FM that even if it doesn't become an official number one on Sunday, he's still happy:

We caught up with his family in Alva, his mum and dad, Sandra and Mick say Stevie's success has been a long time coming:

Organisers moved swiftly to sign up Stevie after his victory on the BBC show, festival Director Geoff Ellis said: “Stevie is an incredible talent - he’s no stranger to music fans in Scotland though, having gigged for years as MOPP and also Stevie and the Moon, so his return to T in the Park is sure to be a very special moment for him and for those in the crowd.

George Kyle, Head of Sponsorship at Tennent’s Lager, said they are "very proud" to support unsigned Scottish talent through the T Break initiative.

He said: "Stevie played T Break as a member of MOPP in 2010 after the duo impressed the judges, and we’re delighted to see that he’s gone on to achieve phenomenal success. His T in the Park performance promises to be a great one.”

Other acts confirmed for T in the Park’s debut outing at Strathallan Castle include headliners Kasabian, The Libertines, Avicii and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, plus David Guetta, The Prodigy, Sam Smith, The Script, Stereophonics, Rudimental, Twin Atlantic, Jamie T, Mark Ronson (DJ set), The War on Drugs and more.
