Under 10s Caught Commiting `A Range Of Offences`

Over 1200 under-10s have been caught in the act by police over the past two years.

According to latest police figures, 1211 have been caught by police for offences like vandalism, dishonesty, violence and indecency over the past two years.

All areas of Scotland experienced a range of offending by children in that age group, with larger force areas like Glasgow recording the most incidents.

The figures were uncovered following a Freedom of Information request by the Scottish Conservatives.

Vandalism and crimes of dishonesty made up the bulk of the instances recorded by Police Scotland among under 10s, but over the past two years, there were also 11 crimes of violence and 19 of indecency.
