Two men, ages 78 and 47, were taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash near St Andrews.
Police say they were alerted to the incident before 1:30pm yesterday.
It happened on the A917 road south of the town.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police Scotland was made aware of a two car crash on the A917 south of St Andrews shortly before 1.30pm on Wednesday 22 July.
"Two men, aged 47 and 78, were taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries."
