TTIP Protesters Descend On Dunfermline

Protests are taking place across Scotland, including in Dunfermline

A protest is taking place in Dunfermline today as part of a day of action against a free trade deal that campaigners say could put the NHS at risk.

The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership - or TTIP - would open up trade links between Europe and the USA.The government say this would boost the economy and cut import taxes.

But campaigners fear the deal could allow foreign investors to sue the UK if their financial interests are risked - for example, if foreign healthcare companies felt our health service was undercutting them.
