An appeal's launched this morning to find more people who want to start a career in foster caring.
The fostering team at Fife Council and the charity Barnardo's say many parents may be thinking about returning to work as their own children head off to school or further education.
Myrna Venters from Inverkeithing started fostering after her own children had left home.
