Teenagers Charged With Dropping Stones On Cars

Two teenagers have been charged for throwing stones at cars from a footbridge in Glenrothes.

Police received reports at around 9pm on Saturday 7 February, when several vehicles were damaged.

A 14 and 15 year old were subsequently traced and charged with offences.

Officers say someone could've been seriously hurt.

Local Sergeant Kenny Greig said: “These crimes show an utter disregard for the safety of others and these reckless acts could have resulted in somebody being seriously injured. These types of crimes can have a significant detrimental effect on the quality of life for residents and this behaviour is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

This result marks the latest success of the newly formed Glenrothes Community Team as officers continue to target those involved in anti- social behaviour in the community.

“This type of positive and pro-active police action ensures that any persons prepared to be involved in crimes of this nature are dealt with in a robust and forthright manner. I would also like to thank the public for their assistance in providing us with the information so we can take action as shown by today’s successful activity”
