John Swinney is named Deputy First Minister as Nicola Sturgeon reshuffles her Scottish cabinet.
The Finance Secretary and former SNP leader's new position has been confirmed by the First Minister.
Taking to twitter, Mr Swinney said: "It is the greatest privilege for me to be appointed Deputy First Minister of Scotland. I will do all I can to serve my country."
