The Scottish Government's ready to spend millions of pounds to offset the effects of the so-called bedroom tax.

During a Holyrood debate on his spending plans for the coming year, Finance Secretary John Swinney said 12 million pounds had been earmarked for the measure - if the Department for Work and Pensions lifted the cap on how much he could spend. And, if the DWP doesn't raise the limit, Mr Swinney will bring forward a scheme to ensure social landlords and tenants don't suffer. He told MSPs how he'd pay for it:
