Stock Car Driver, 11, Seriously Injured In Fife Accident

An 11 year old champion mini stock car driver has been seriously injured after an accident while racing in Fife.

Keir Millar, from Lockerbie, was racing at Lochgelly Raceway on Saturday.

Reports from the race organisers had claimed the youngster had died at the weekend.

Police Scotland today clarified that the boy is currently being treated at a hospital in Edinburgh.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police in Fife were called to Lochgelly at around 8pm on Saturday 9th May following reports that an 11-year-old boy had sustained serious injuries during a stock car event.

“He was conveyed to the Victoria Hospital in Fife, then the Sick Kids Hospital in Edinburgh where his condition remains serious.”
