Search For Abandoned Cat's Owner

The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after a severely matted cat was found in Rosyth.

Officers were called out to help the feline on Monday by a resident of Albert Street in the town, who found her shut in the shed.

The cat, who has been named Ellie, is now in the care of staff at the charity's animal rescue and rehoming centre in Lanarkshire.

Inspector Nicola Liddell said, "Ellie is an elderly tabby cat. She wasincredibly matted when we found her and has obviously been wearing a
collar as she is bald around her neck.

"She was found in the caller's shed and had possibly been shut in there for a couple of days.

"Ellie is such a friendly and adorable girl and we are keen to hear from anyone who recognises her to find out how she came to be found in this condition.
"If we aren't able to reunite Ellie with her owner we'll find her a loving new home."

Anyone who recognises Ellie is being asked to contact the Scottish SPCA's Lanarkshire centre on 03000 999 999.
