Scottish Poppy Appeal Begins

This year's theme is 'Donate like you mean it'

Poppy selfie booths and a poppy hashtag will feature in this year's Scottish Poppy Appeal for the first time.

Funds raised go towards supporting with finance, employment, physical and mental health, housing and social isolation for the estimated 118,000 ex-servicemen and women living in Scotland.

The theme for this year's appeal is "Donate like you mean it" and organisers are urging the public to tell them what the poppy means to them.

A hashtag will be used to encourage Scots to support with the campaign #MyPoppyMeans and a poppy selfie booth will travel to key Scotrail stations.

The best messages will be showcased on the campaign website.

Fifers can also get involved in the traditional way by buying a poppy and donating money to the cause.
