Scots Urged To Choose Sleep Over Smart Devices

More Scots are letting phones disrupt their sleep

Putting down our laptops, smartphones and tablets could mean more sleep and less accidents.

A study by LV Home Insurance shows a lack of pillow time has led to a significant rise in accidents in the home across the UK.

Nearly one million Scots are also spending more time using technology every day than they are sleeping.

Our addiction to our devices is leading to higher risks for our health with a significant rise in accidents in the home across the UK, and the number trebling over the past five years.

Staining the carpet, starting a fire on the hob  and burning a surface with an iron are just some of accidents that have increased due to us being either sleep deprived due to our technology or through us being distracted by devices.

More obscure accidents include putting a foot through the loft floor or tripping and causing damage to a wall.

But there is some good news from the study, Scots are reported as getting the most sleep, when compared to the rest of the UK.
