Scots Economy Concerns Over Low Oil Prices

The tourism industry in Fife was very successful during the summer months

Low oil prices mean confidence in the Scottish financial sector has dropped below zero.

It is one of the main concerns highlighted by the quarterly economic figures for Scotland, which have been released today.

Other worries include a drop in retail employment and a drop in manufacturing orders over the last 3 months.

But the tourism and construction sectors have done particularly well, partly due to events like The Open in St Andrews, which brought millions of visitors to the country.
