The Scottish Liberal Democrats are calling on Police Scotland to reverse its policy of openly carrying guns.
The Police Force currently allow armed officers to attend routine duties across Scotland whilst overtly carrying firearms.
And now the Scottish Lib Dems have written to theChief Constable of Police Scotland for a guarantee that armed officers will be present in or near polling stations on routine duties on the day of the referendum vote.
Scottish Lib Dem Leader Willie Rennie says allowing firearms to be present at polling stations would be an `error of judgement`:
