Salmond 'Must Set Out Plan B' On Currency

The chief secretary to the Treasury says Alex Salmond should set out an alternative currency plan for an independent Scotland as "a matter of great urgency".

Danny Alexander's written to the First Minister after all three of the UK's main political parties said Scotland shouldn't share the pound if people vote for independence.

The Scottish government says it wants to keep it if there's a 'yes' vote in September's referendum, 

The Yes campaign says that if the rest of the UK is doesn't want a 'sterling-zone' then it would be left with the UK's debt - currently 1.6 trillion pounds.
