Ruling Expected On New Madras College

Court of Session judges are due to say if work can start on a new school at the Pipeland Road site.

Plans to build a new Madras College could be given the go ahead today.

Judges at the Court of Session in Edinburgh are due to rule on the proposed Pipeland Road site where Fife Council want to put up the new school.

Campaign group STEPAL took legal action over the plan to build on the site, arguing planning rules were broken in favour of educational needs.

Opposing group Parent Voice say the new school is badly needed and member Stephen Reicher says: "There's a very strong case for it going ahead, it's certainly what the community wants. There are a few people who say no, it's a great pity their actions have delayed the school we've needed for so long."
