Road Closures as Council Reconstructs Dunfermline Footpath

A path in Dunfermline is costing Fife Council £120,000.

The Kirkgate footway is going to be reconstructed with working starting on the 16th of March and continuing until the 3rd of April.

St Catherine's Wynd, Kirkgate and Maygate will be closed to traffic but diversions along Canmore Street, New Row, East Port and Glen Bridge will be in place.

Councillor Altany Craik said: “We maintain over 2,400km of roads in Fife and are spending millions each year repairing and improving them.

“Our road network is vital to support economic development, inward investment, tourism, leisure and travel to work. Almost everyone in Fife uses our roads on a daily basis, which is why this type of maintenance work is so essential.”

Councillor Craik added: “We apologise for any inconvenience and delay caused by these essential works, and we will try to keep any disturbance to a minimum. Your patience and co-operation during this time is greatly appreciated.”
