Residents Highlight Speeding Concerns

There's been an increase in the number of motorists breaking the speed limit on a notorious Fife road.

Kinghorn Loch road has a 40 mph limit in place.

Residents in Kinghorn and Burntisland have raised concerns about the number of drivers regularly exceeding the limit.

Additional mobile speed cameras are to be put in place in a bid to curb the problem.

Partnership Manager, Andy Jones said: "Local residents have raised concerns about speeding on the road. The speed limit for  the road, locally known as the Kinghorn Loch road, is 40 mph. The road links the towns of Burntisland and Kinghorn and there is a core path network within the area so several types of road users will make use of the road and paths including cyclists and pedestrian. Drivers should note that the 40mph speed restriction is a maximum and not a target and lower speeds may be more appropriate at times. If detected speeding it’s a £100 and three penalty points (minimum). Local residents can be rest assured that concerns raised about speeding on Fife's roads are responded to."
