Report Calls For Housing Crisis Action

Everyone in Scotland deserves a safe, secure, and suitable home according to a major report.

Shelter Scotland's 18 month study is calling for rent and council tax reform, freeing up land for more housing and more support for private landlords.

The charity has repeatedly called for 10 thousand new homes to be built to tackle the country's housing crisis.

Official figures show around 4,300 youngsters were living in temporary accomodation between October and December 2012.

In Fife alone, 533 households were living in temporary accommodation at the end of 2014 - a picture which is mirrored across the country.
