A 19-year-old man was approached in Links Street at around 8pm on Tuesday 29th September and assaulted near to the Post Office.

During the attack the victim was pushed to the ground and robbed of his wallet before the male responsible made off from the area.

Tonight officers will be delivering leaflets to local residents in Lundin Links appealing for information and are urging anyone who can assist with this investigation to come forward.

The suspect is described as white, 6'ft tall with a slim build and a bald head. He was wearing a dark jacket, dark trousers and a bandana or similar garment around the lower part of his face.

Detective Sergeant Jim MCGuinness said: "It is now a week since this incident and we are still keen to speak to anyone who was in the Lundin Links area on that night who may have seen the suspect before or after this offence was committed. He may have even been seen acting suspiciously at some point.

“Thankfully crimes of this nature are rare in this area, however it is crucial that anyone with information or who may recognise the description of this male contacts the police immediately."

Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively, the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
