28,130 Scots-domiciled students have secured a place at university so far this year, a record high.
The figures, published by UCAS, represent an increase of 790 (3%) compared to this point last year.
An additional 3,330 students have been placed since Scottish results day on August 4, following a record 156,000 Higher passes this year.
Cabinet Secretary for Education Angela Constance said:
"Scottish results saw a record number of Scots students accepted to university compared to the same point last year and I am absolutely delighted to see that the trend has continued into this week with another record and more than 3,000 Scots placed at university since last week’s UCAS figures.
This is further positive news for Scottish students and stands Scottish education in very good stead, but for those still musing over what to do next, help is at hand.
