Willie Rennie believes his party can go from strength to strength after 'shedding the shackles' of the Conservatives.

The Liberal Democrats lost 49 seats in a crushing general election defeat and now have just eight representatives at Westminster.

He says, along with the party's new Westminster leader, they can begin refocusing on liberal values such as improving mental health and childcare provisions.

The Fife representative yesterday endorsed Tim Farron to take over following Nick Clegg's resignation on Friday.
