Rapid Car Chargers Now In Fife

You can now charge your electric car at two new rapid charging points in Fife.

The new chargers which are quicker than the standard 7kW chargers are located at Halbeath Park and Ride and Bankhead Glenrothers.  They can fully recharge a flat electric car battery to full in roughly 30 minutes. 

They have been funded by Transport Scotland who are also hoping to add another in St Andrews shortly.

Councillor Pat Callaghan, Executive Spokesperson for Environment and Transportation said: "Fife already has an excellent network of chargers and the addition of two rapid chargers will encourage more people to consider switching to electric cars."

He added: "Electric vehicles are ideal pool cars for the many shorter journeys between Council offices. They help reduce the council’s CO2 emissions as well as reducing the amount of diesel used as fuel"
