Maggie Macdonald owner of Style Conscience which sells good quality pre-owned clothing  in Markinch undertook a year of fundraising and raised an impressive £3,033.40.

Maggie said:

"I am sponsoring the day in honour of my mum who died 21 years ago on 1st July. She was an amazing woman and my biggest role model. When faced with a diagnosis of terminal cancer with only months to live she simply said "I've had my three score years and ten everything else has been a bonus."

"Maggie's would have been a real support to me as I found it very difficult to accept losing her and after about 5 years ended up having a few counselling sessions to help me deal with her death. If Maggie's had been there all those years ago I know I would not have had such a difficult journey through the grieving process.

"I would like to thank everyone who supported me, without them it would not have been possible to exceed my target."

Elspeth Salter Centre Head said:

"It is a wonderful and meaningful way that Maggie has chosen to remember her mother and at the same time to support our work here at the Centre. We are all so grateful to her. And of course it will mean that we can continue to offer support to families like hers whose lives are shaken by a cancer diagnosis – we can guide them and support them all along the way."

Maggie will be attending Maggie's Fife on the 1st who will be representing all the other very important people who helped her raise and exceed her fundraising target.
