Pupils Say Bullying 'Makes Them Suicidal'

Around 30% of Scottish schoolchildren say they have experienced bullying

Nearly half of school children have reported being bullied every day.

Over 40-percent say bullying keeps them awake at night, while almost a quarter say it's made them feel suicidal. 

The Diana Award is highlighting the effects of bullying on young people. The survey results revealed that young people are not only worried about themselves going back to school, but also concerned for their peers. The damaging impact of bullying was also captured by the survey, as students expressed feelings of depression and misery, alongside a desire to change their eating habits, sleeping patterns, and appearance because of the bullying they have faced.

A study carried out by Scottish charity respectme shows numbers being bullied north of the border are lower. Their campaigns manager Pamela Graham says help is out there for young people:
