Kingdom FM News has heard from the Provost of Fife about the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
On 8 May 1945, World War II officially came to an end in Europe.
The much anticipated news led to celebrations across the UK and a national holiday had been declared to mark the occasion.
A two minute silence is taking place at 11am this morning.
Provost of Fife Jim Leishman has been talking about the importance of this day.
He also speaks about how he has paid his respects across the continent in previous times.
