Postie Dog Attacks Spike During Holidays

Around nine postmen and women are attacked every day.

Royal Mail is urging people to keep their pets under control after revealing the number of dog attacks against postal workers increased by eight per cent over the last year.

The company says the number remains "unacceptably high".

A tenth of the incidents were in Scotland.

The Scottish government is considering compulsory microchipping for dogs to improve public safety from dangerous or out of control dogs.
