Police Seeking 'Rowdy' Passengers on Fife Train

The rowdy passengers left at Inverkeithing station

Police are looking for a group of men following a disturbance on a Fife-bound train.

Between six and eight men boarded the Dundee service at Edinburgh Waverley station last saturday night, and started jumping and banging the roof as the train departed. They are also reported to have been singing and shouting and lay in the luggage racks.

They disembarked at Inverkeithing station.

Young children were among the passengers who said they felt threatened by the behaviour.

Constable Jan Langer, the BTP officer in charge of the enquiry, said: "The behaviour is not something passengers should be faced with while travelling."

CCTV from on the train and at stations will be reviewed in an attempt to identify those involved.

Officers say the incident may've been filmed on a smartphone, and are urging anyone with any information to call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or by texting 61016. Information can also be given to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
