Police seek information after two Leslie fires

Police are asking for information from the public after two fires in Leslie on Sunday.

The blazes happened in the town's Bank Place.

Damage was done to a front door and a pile of rubbish was put in flames.

Officers are asking for anyone with private CCTV in surrounding areas to get in contact with them.

They also say the consequences could have been 'devastating' amid a tough time for the emergency services and the public.

Police Sergeant Cheryl Young from Glenrothes Police Station said: "I am appealing to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the Bank Place area in the early hours and early evening of Sunday 10 May to get in touch with police as soon as possible.

"I would also appeal to anyone with private CCTV in the surrounding areas to contact police.

"This behaviour could easily have had more devastating consequences and at such a difficult time for both the public and the emergency services.

"There is no place for such disregard for public safety in our communities and this incident will be robustly investigated."

Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting reference number 350 of Sunday 10 May.

Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
