Police pull over family of four going to Cupar to collect pet during trip from Yorkshire

Police south of the border have pulled over a vehicle which was heading to Cupar on a trip from Halifax.

A car containing a family of four was going to Fife to collect a pet, before it was stopped more than 10 miles away from the Scottish border.

Officers from Cumbria Police pulled over the vehicle on the northbound M6 motorway at junction 43, which is situated next to Carlisle.

Another family member was looking after the dog, according to the force.

It issued a fine before the family stopped were escorted back to Yorkshire.
