Police appeal for witnesses after concerns raised about welfare of a woman in Dunfermline

Police are asking for witnesses after concerns were raised about a woman's welfare in Dunfermline.

Around 1am yesterday morning, a member of the public noticed a dark Vauxhall Corsa being driven erratically in the town centre and Carnegie Drive.

The person had pulled up beside the vehicle and spoke to the woman driving it, who is said to have been very distressed before driving off.

She is described as between 40 and 60 years old, with brown/greying hair and a fringe.

Officers are appealing for the woman to get in contact to let them know if she is alright.

Constable Vicki Philip from Dunfermline Police Station said: "The member of the public called police following the incident to report concern for this woman driving the car, however enquiries so far have been unable to trace her.

"I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around 1am on Thursday morning who noticed a dark coloured Corsa driving erratically, or anything else of significance, to please get in touch.

"I would also urge the woman who was driving to come forward and speak to officers to let us know whether she is ok.

"Anyone with information can contact Dunfermline Police Office through 101, quoting incident number 0280 or Thursday 27 August 2020."
