Police appeal for information after robbery at petrol station in Dunfermline

Police are asking for information after a robbery, which took place at a petrol station in Dunfermline in the early hours of this morning.

At around 4:40am, two men entered the BP filling station, formerly known as Jet, in the town's Bothwell Street.

A male member of staff was threatened with a weapon and money was demanded.

Both men took a three-figure sum of cash and a quantity of tobacco.

The member of staff, who is 25-years-old, wasn't injured, but was left extremely shaken.

Both suspects are described as white, around 6 foot in height and of medium build.

They were wearing dark-coloured tracksuit trousers, grey hooded tops with their hoods up and also had face coverings on.

Detective Inspector Karen Muirhead of Dunfermline Police Station said: "This was a terrifying ordeal for the member of staff who is extremely shaken as a result of this robbery.

"We are carrying out enquiries and gathering CCTV footage from the local area to establish more information to trace the two men responsible for this robbery.

"At this time I would urge anyone who saw two men acting suspiciously in the area of Bothwell Street to contact us.

"We believe that there were dog walkers in the area around the time of the robbery and I would urge them to contact us as they may have witnessed something vital to this enquiry.
