Support For Petition Against School Changes

A petition against proposed changes to the school week in Fife has attracted over 3 thousand signatures.

The controversial plans would see school hours decrease by 10% in a bid to `improve education' but have come under fire from parents.

Dehra Sweet, from Cupar, launched the online campaign against Fife Council's plans to change the region's school timetables and is accusing the authority of sending out `mixed messages.'

She also contacted councillor Bryan Poole to express her concerns.  She says it's time for Fife Council to come clean about any plans to change school timetabling.

The local authority says the issue is only at discussion stage, with no concrete plans in place.
