One Year Since Police Scotland Launched

Scotland's single police force is criticised over staff cuts and public counter closures.

It's a year since Scotland's police forces merged into one.

Police Scotland officers say there are still challenges ahead; however Labour MSPs have renewed their criticism of the Scottish Government claiming it's been a bad move for policing.

As part of budget savings, police counters are to close including Anstruther and Burntisland.

Scottish Labour MSP Graeme Pearson says that's not the only issue.

Meanwhile, Ministers say the formation of the force has helped maintain an extra 1, 000 police officers in our communities and a fall in the crime rate.
