A business think tank is calling for decisions made on oil and gas taxation and regulation to be moved from London to Aberdeen - regardless of the outcome of next month's independence referendum.
Apolitical business organisation N-56 says the move would deliver a vital boost to the sector and would echo the situation in Norway and the call is being made whatever the result of the Scottish independence referendum in September.
N-56 is also calling for a more competitive tax regime in the sector.
Graeme Blackett says the move will help make the most of the country's fossil fuel reserves.
