Offensive Singing Arrests After Raith v Rangers

Five people have been charged for offensive singing during Raith Rovers' recent home game against Rangers.

A 15 year old from Hamilton was arrested yesterday and will appear before the children's panel at a later date.

An 18 year old was arrested during the game last month, while two Glaswegians, aged 17 and 20, and a 36 year old from Falkirk were arrested today.

The four adults will appear at the town's sheriff court next week charged under the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications Act.

Inspector Alan Seath said: “This behaviour by a misguided minority is detrimental to the entire football community and will not be tolerated.

“Police Scotland takes all reports of offensive behaviour and communications very seriously and will to pursue all lines of enquiry to ensure that offenders are brought before the courts.”
