Figures show nursing positions are not being filled within three months.
More than 350 nursing and midwifery jobs have been sitting empty in NHS boards for more than the three month period, according to the latest figures.
The statistics, from ISD Scotland, show there were a total of 1,500 vacancies as of December 2013.
The Scottish Conservatives claim the Scottish government is neglecting training for nurses.
Of the 352 posts vacant for three months of more, the majority are in adult nursing.
