Nothing to stop Kelty Hearts from going all the way to the Premiership, says Maroon Machine midfielder

There is nothing to stop Kelty Hearts from making it all the way to the Premiership, says their midfielder Joe Cardle.

The Maroon Machine were crowned League Two champions on Saturday after winning 1-0 against Stenhousemuir, while Annan were defeated 4-2 by Albion Rovers.

After the final whistle, the players, coaching staff and supporters all celebrated the achievement together at New Central Park.

Kevin Thomson's side have secured the title just less than a year after they made it into the SPFL for the first time, with the achievement marking his first piece of silverware in only his first role as a manager.

Fife's newest SPFL club have become champions with five league games still to play before the end of this season.

They were also just a round away from making it into the Scottish Cup quarter-finals after knocking Premiership side St Johnstone out in the fourth round, as well as Montrose and Buckie Thistle in the previous two rounds before that.

Anas Hassan, our Kingdom FM reporter, has been chatting with Joe today in a video above to reflect on the club's latest success.
