No council comment on Mikaeel claims

Fife Council won't comment on reports that up to 25 social work staff accessed confidential social work files on Mikaeel Kular.

The toddler's body was found in Kirkcaldy in January after his mother, Rosdeep Adekoya, reported him missing.

She'll be sentenced next week after admitting his manslaughter.

Unnamed sources are said to have claimed Fife's social work department was under scrutiny and that some staff were facing disciplinary action.

But the council's executive director of education and children's services, Craig Munro, said they have a clear internal process for dealing with discipline issues.

And they don't comment publicly on staff members' individual circumstances.
